This half-day Santorini wine tasting tour is perfect for travelers who want to discover the island’s famous volcanic wines and learn about the deep connection between local life and winemaking.
Before Santorini became the popular destination it is today, locals were mainly farmers, producing and exporting wine as early as 3000 BC. The wines of Santorini are truly unique, shaped by the volcanic soil, the strong winds, and the island’s distinctive basket-style vine cultivation.
For centuries, winemaking was the main source of income on the island. Daily life, traditions, songs, architecture, and even village layouts were closely connected to the wine production process.
This tour focuses on that authentic side of Santorini. We visit traditional villages and end the experience with a wine tasting of three representative Santorini wines at a local winery.
